The Yellow Lotus Plant-A Pond Favorite!

The Yellow Lotus
This gorgeous plant can be found throughout the Midwest and eastern United States. It has a large 7 inch yellow flower nestled with 18” umbrella like leaves. It is a freshwater plant which grows approximately 10 inches above the water’s surface. The flower has a huge ‘salt shaker’ type seed pod in the center.
The Yellow Lotus blooms from June until September when the flower and leaves fall away leaving the seed pod above the water’s surface. These seed pods contain hard seed that would germinate centuries from now.
